Modern IT for the small businesses that make Canton work.

Slyder Consulting Group is a US-based, remote-first MSP serving clients across the country and internationally — including small businesses across Stark County. This page covers what working with us looks like for a Canton-area SMB specifically. The full picture of who we are and what we do is on the main site.

The Canton SMB doesn't need an enterprise MSP.

A lot of MSPs that serve Stark County are sized and priced for clients much bigger than a typical Canton small business. The result: a 15-person accounting firm in Jackson Township gets sold the same service package as a 200-person manufacturer in Massillon — and pays for a lot of overhead they'll never use.

We sized our service deliberately for the 10–150 employee Canton-area SMB. That's the sweet spot where transparent per-user pricing, a focused security stack, and included strategic guidance actually deliver value — without the enterprise pricing or the enterprise sales cycle.

If you have 5 people, we'll honestly tell you whether you need an MSP at all yet. If you have 300 people, we'll honestly tell you we're probably not the right fit. Everywhere in between — that's us.

What "good IT" looks like for a Canton small business in 2026.

Three things have changed in the last few years that the typical Canton SMB owner should know:

1. Ransomware is now an SMB problem, not an enterprise problem.

Attackers shifted down-market years ago. A 25-person Canton accounting firm is now a more attractive target than a Fortune 500 — easier to breach, more likely to pay, less likely to have professional incident response. Modern endpoint detection (EDR), MFA on every account, and immutable backups are the floor, not the ceiling.

2. Cyber insurance carriers are calling the shots.

Your cyber insurance application now functions as your security checklist. If you can't honestly check the boxes, you're either uninsured or paying a brutal premium. Our Silver tier checks the common ones; Gold checks the harder ones (third-party risk management, formal incident response plan, tested backups).

3. The cost of bad IT is mostly invisible until it isn't.

Slow tickets, lost productivity, security gaps, missed strategic opportunities — these don't show up on the income statement until ransomware does, or you fail a vendor security review, or you lose a client because their cyber team won't approve you as a vendor. By then it's expensive to fix.

Bottom line: if your IT is "fine, mostly," that's no longer good enough in 2026. The good news: it doesn't have to cost what it used to.

Canton FAQ

You're our target size. A lot of MSPs have minimum seat counts (25, 50, even 100) — we don't. Per-user pricing means small clients pay small, and the service is identical. If you have at least one full-time employee whose IT problems are slowing down the business, you'll get value from this.

All of Stark County and into the surrounding ring — Massillon, North Canton, Jackson Township, Plain Township, Louisville, Hartville, Uniontown, Minerva, Alliance. Remote-first means we don't bill by ZIP code.

Common situation. The honest answer: probably not anymore. Modern security, M365, backups, and compliance posture aren't reasonable to ask an unrelated job role to carry as a side project. Even Bronze tier takes that off your team's plate for less than the cost of one bad ransomware day.

Yes. We sign BAAs as a business associate, we maintain HIPAA-aware controls (encryption, access logging, audit trails), and our Gold tier includes the annual risk assessment and policy review work. We support common EHR/PM environments — Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, and more.

Yes — QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, Sage Intacct, CCH ProSystem fx, Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, and most other common tools. We support the environment they run in (workstations, servers, terminal services, security, backup) and coordinate with the application vendor on app-specific issues.
